WE, THE YOUTH TODAY

We, the youth today are in search 
Of a living, breathing ideal 
Who can propel us to see 
Beyond our career,profession and life partner;
Can show to us 
How to love this earth of our birth
In a selfless way.

We are growing in a moral vacuum
With a wild addiction to smokes and drinks
Which make us feel proud and trendy,
We feel ,we need to be rowdy
With much money in pocket--
And the thickness of the packet , not the source,
Of which is important for our existence.
Selfishness is perhaps our essence.

We love Discos, DJ nights and Day Dreams
We love trunk-loads of junk food
And drums of White Mischief,
Bikes-- better without breaks
Ball partners without names
Don’t disturb or downgrade us-- we say
But you moral idiots want us to toe your way.

If you really wanna mend us or bend us
Give us an IDEAL who can to his or her tune
make us dance and sway.
