FOR SONALI,MY YOUNGER DAUGHTER

So gracefully you stepped into my mother’s shoes
At a tender age after she had passed away
Leaving behind a half-constructed house
An unmarried daughter, a tottering father
Many unsolved issues
And a truck load of woes;
When the July sky burst upon the earth
To soothe an aching afternoon womb
Your smile bloomed like flowers of BADAGHAGRA
Taking the shine from falls of SANAGHAGRA
You have become an angel of peace
Committed to strive for the cause of justice.
In this world ravaged by human calamities,
Conflicts, chaos and indignities ;
You are to light the flame of universal love
And make this life, of beauty a treasure trove.
