RAJA

That Raja you stretched out as a long ,endearing river 
across the length and breadth of the bed 
of my sprawling sands 
whisperimg the secrets of your puberty
into the layers of underlying fallow lands
surrounding us on all sides,

This Raja in the shadow of remote rain 
you are the lovelorn cry of a peacock
caught as a lump inside a dry throat
in the thick of my leafy body
burning with a desire for death in silent pain .
