BHARATMATA GROUND

This ground where we played football
thirty six yrs back--
it looks on to distant horizon
though with some grievous wounds on its govt. body
that tell a cruel story of a different kind
of injury n loss
of neglect n unconcern--
still it doesn't fail to stimulate
the young to play
n we the pentagenerians took a run
round the field to feel her body
n find the wild rush of love in her young wounded heart
keen to give unlimited joy of games n sports
to gen-nexts ahead...
