The earth gave you the first kiss
On Budha Purnima day
With the Oxygen of peace breathed
Into your baby soul by poems on Budha
Recited on the hills of Lalitagiri
Spreading shivers of joy all around,
Though a few patriarchs
Frowned upon you as a girl child;
You blossomed forth like a child divine
Into a sturdy girl ready for all strife
Adding meaning even to detractors’ life .
Starting from your first smile
You shone like a pearl on mom’s cheeks
Enticing hearts to your cute babbles
And afternoon toddles;
Your pretty eyes floating
Like lilies on pond water
Became stars of happiness in papa’s life
Weaving dreams of happiness
For your small little sister;
For whom you are the soul’s companion
Her play-mate,intellect and guardian.
Let you conquer the world with love n intelligence
That’s our wish on this day of luminescence.
