HEART
A convict extraordinary
An insurgent, a revolutionary
Accused of many an outrageous act
Of love within and beyond the boundary ;
You justly deserved arrest
And imprisonment Inside the chest
Behind the bars of solid ribs
Confined to the cribs
First as an under-trial for years
In judicial custody
Before being sentenced by God
As a lifer ,
Though some say
you deserved much more.

Saved from death
by law of ‘double jeopardy’
You are a prisoner ordinary;
Daily engaged in chores
Like grinding difficult emotions
Splitting negativities
into small fractions
Cementing fractures in relations
And writing powerful mercy petitions -
For innocent convicts whom law failed
Therein seeking your redemption;
Given to build a new ‘home for correction’
In words of a new love
At the center of which
we all can pray for your acquittal and release
and of course, for the humanity’s early salvation.
