SEARCH
I am searching for you
in the sandy corner of that old street
behind a little bush of which
we whispered salvation
into the enchanted ear of the night ;
in the aroma of the wind
that played upon your braid
trying to unlock it from behind ;
I am searching for you
In the syllables of the night bird
who sang so sweetly from the boughs’ hind ;
In the madness of the honeyed moon
racking luckless love-struck pink mind .

I am searching for you
in the look of that wild flower
that kissed you from every side ;
in the ripples of that sinking river
on whose bank for the first time
each other we really did find :
in the froth of the waves
that rubbed our gentle skin
to each other’s lap bind ;
in the body of those pebbles
that glistened under the currents
of fire in our being deep inside .

I am searching for you
in the silence at the heart
of a blistering sun
that burnt both of us from a height;
in the showers of a blind rain
that lashed us in a monsoon night ;
and in the pearls of dew
blossoming on the lips of green grass
in every moon-lit night.
