TERRACE
You came for such a brief time
During my prime
To rekindle love
And save an accursed life,
When there was dark all around
The moon had gone away,
Stars too were home bound
But you were the only ray;
You said, “Don’t chase that mirage,
Love me
Believe me
And feel here my real craze.”
But I was a falling star then
Breaking into pieces;
Hurt by Sun’s disaffection,
Into dust and hisses
;
I was proud enough
Not to take you to my arms
I had the false pride of a lover
To say ‘no’ to your charms.
Now as I think of you
Rays revive in me your sweet face
And with the moon in hand
You oft’ descend to
my lonely terrace.
