AWAY

Away from you
I am into an abyss :
of dark clouds about to burst into rain ,
of tears drying up in hearts of trickling rivers of Summer ,
into the thick of nameless Wintry  fog in its endless shower,
into depths of oceans thirsting for a drink of simple water ,
into spaces among sands weaving dreams about a new sun every hour
whereto I sink in search of my name, address and identity
when you seem to engulf all my time, space and reality .

Away from you
I’m into the innermost heart of all other things and beings :
into the hunger of cattle that drives them to sods on  riverbed,
into the cries of crows at tree tops in the graveyard of my hamlet
where my humble villagers in their death beds are  softly laid ,
into the peace of blossoms white, blue, violet, pink, green and red
trying in their endless sways and swings a Hot Spring to woo and wed .

Away from you
I’m into the heights of a few things too :
I’m scattered into a few dots of blue in the chest of a luminous Sky;
into the brood of dreaming birds in their post-coital ecstasy’s high
into the spiraling smokes of love from trees into the breast of Sun
into the echoes from caves of mountains sheltering lovely beasts of fun
into the silence of rocks folding their invisible hands into prayer
into the ecstasy of yogis almost dead in the depth of  bliss in shower .

MORNING HUG

Mud and slime in soft breast of Earth from night’s random showers
in a blissful hug with early March sunshine
whisper some secrets into ears of Spring wind,
overhearing which leaves stretch out their wings
as if to embrace an eternity under the Sky ;

Palash flowers on golden boughs in an abandon of reflex ,
sway in ecstasy as a flock of birds suddenly take off
from their clasp after a long suck, to their cheek muscles’ happy flex ;

Birds in an jubilant chorus pamper the half-ripe plums ;
bees are lost in their own hums ;

mango buds are madly in love with their own ooze ;
and the crow at the tree top caws after a happy snooze ;

At this hour of Nature’s intense love
the owl of my past gets lost into the radiance of an effulgent Sun ,
as the Jamun tree madly swings
lost in dance of a dream about berries to come along with lots of fun .

Here I can see you borne in the palanquin of my breaths
singing the glory of life in the midst of drama of all deaths .

SPRING RAIN –II

Another vagrant shower driven by a stray gust
Induces the Earth to sprouts of wet love again ,
In shivers of cool wind whetting her ancient lust
With opulence of aroma that from flowers rain;

Overwhelming petrichor of arousal in earlier times
A  passion intenser pulls more and more of clouds,
When slow chime in heart with music of rain rhymes
And in breast of the Sky a temporary dark shrouds ;

Tips of leaves that shed tears of dew in the morn
Are now happy drinking enough and shedding rain,
At the end of which to a real ecstasy are they born
With kiss from a tremulous Sun that steals all pain ;

Who says love is outside of the Earth only in heaven ?
When here and now love thus so sweetly doth reign !!!

SPRING  RAIN

Rain from a passing cloud in this Spring evening
Touches off a flurry of mixed feels ,
Inciting the naughty wind to play chicanery
With my beloved who is tempted to bare her mind
To kisses from beams turning pink on petals of her thoughts—

About me that bloom into a fantasy of my presence
Around her fragrant soul smelling of petrichor
When silently I turn into drops of passion in Night’s tear
And she , into a cool embrace of a drenched Earth
Without shadow of time or death over us or any vague fear ;

Look how my Lord moves here with beloved Radha
In a  Vimana on shoulders of devotees treading
Common ground in an uncommon trance of mind ,
To bind all with love that thrills the rain to cheer
And the  wind to dance in joy at  my love’s new find.

SKY  LOVE

All night the Sky wrote infinite letters of love to his beloved, Earth
On the slate of his mind blue, in tune with his tears of soft, sticky dew,
Silently trickling into hearts of lakes,  petals , leaves and seas
By a sentient night wind’s ceaseless , restless sighs;

Half formed  lyrics written in  letters of clouds so disobedient
That changed characters all through the night too often
At last to fall off into dusts of shrouds from the chalk of moon
Who In spasms not knowing what to do turned into a silhouette soon .

Early in the morn Sky’s desperate hands rob his sleepless, swollen, teary eyes
Before writing off those unreliable letters and robbing his slate clean,
To allow the Sun to pierce his heart first before kissing his beloved lean
In zillions of rainbows in drops of dew whereto love in a moment flew.

The sky of my heart is always composing poems for you so very new
When you hide in drops of dew to be kissed everyday by a Sun so new !

SKY  KISS

The Sky of my heart is kissed by a spray of spittle from a March wind
In love with the stars floating under clouds of my shimmering thoughts
That raise you from the fossils of memory embossed on my soul’s skin;
Grown ecstatic at the touch of your saffron flying , fragrant blue saree
That slowly engulfs my entire being , when I find myself trying too hard
To recover my last breath from under heaps moon beams --my coffin !
At this vernal tryst I find you dropping off with ease all your old veils
From all parts of your luscious being as if you drown into an astral fling .

With the longtime longings of a lover over the years worn out and thin
My Sky sings a different song tonight in voice of the excited night bird
Responding to the call for union behind the leafy branches of a overladen tree,
In whose hollows hid my love’s owl for years growing  more and more lean
Perhaps waiting for this moment of union in the imagination of the bard
Before his mortal body stuck in the mud of infinite longings was set fully free .

BRIDEGROOM IN WAIT

My aching heart yearns to listen to the silence
Of words in my bride’s sweet heart tonight
Quelled by chants, noise of bands, blaring mikes, rituals
Bursts of cracker -rockets to a great height;

Beneath cast of tents, display of apparels and flying colours
There lies a simple unostentatious desire to be one with
My  goddess with her soul in silent prayer
Who is always willing my smiles and tears to share
In the depth of an ocean of love blue and feelings so rare
Where I dwell these days in the midst of all tumult and fanfare .

I ‘m here at the Mandap receiving relatives, friends, well wishers
With their bouquets, gifts, radiant smiles and close-ups,
My bride is here too with her blushes hiding stains from tears ;
But I only see her in wait at the secret shore of her love’s soaring sea
Whereto my soul doth silently flee in spirit of an eternal glee
With shower of vernal flowers from heaven’s bowers
Inciting me, for my bridal blossom to be a humming bee .
